Anti snoring devices

Snoring happens while you sleep as the muscles that are located in the upper airway of your body relax, which in turn causes an obstruction and bottle neck of the airway passage. These obstructions will cause the soft tissue around the airway passage to vibrate, which causes snoring and the associated noise.

The good news is the overwhelming majority of people suffering from problematic snoring can be effectively treated using an oral device such as a mandibular advancement appliance (MAA).

A mandibular advancement appliance is a dental appliance, similar to a gum shield, which is worn in your mouth while you sleep. It is also known as a mandibular advancement splint, mandibular repositioning device, oral appliance or dental device. These devices are designed to gently hold the lower jaw and tongue in the 'recovery position' whilst you sleep and thereby keeping your airway open.

Experts have agreed that these oral devices are the most effective way to stop snoring and sleep apnoea.

I attended the clinic to have a mould taken to add a tooth to an existing denture. I had to leave my denture for the clinician to make the necessary addition, the receptionist called me a couple of hours later to tell me that I can collect the completed denture. I needed the job completed for the following Wednesday, the efficiency of the team left me plenty of time to move forward with the planned extraction.
